Removal of Interpol Red Notice (notification)
There are quite a few known situations where there was abuse, irrational use of Interpol information systems by different member countries. More than half of such abuses are directly related to the red card, which is considered one of the most common. A striking example is the story of our client, who was put on the international wanted list by Moldova.
Reasons for issuing a Red Notice
Our client was detained in Ukraine due to an Interpol red card received at the request of Moldova. The reason for issuing this card was as follows: the person was suspected of fraud. As a result, the search by Moldova implied a search for our client in order to sentence him taking into account all the existing charges.
However, the client applied for asylum. Therefore, the extradition procedure was denied.
Commission Decision
Considering all the above facts, our lawyers began proceedings on the case of the international search by Interpol at the request of Moldova. We sent a request to the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files (CCF) in order to receive a positive response to the removal of the red notice and all information about our client from the organization’s database.
But after some time, the Commission reported that the data had already been removed, but the main initiator of this process was the NCB of Moldova. Thus, our client is not a subject of a red notice, is not listed on the international wanted list of Moldova by Interpol and can safely cross the borders of other countries.
